Autonomous Systems Fundamentals and Application Certificate Program

Requirement: Participants are required to bring their own laptops.

Program Fee: 2,000 TL for IGU alumni and members, 3,500 TL for external participants

Target Audience

This training is designed for students studying in engineering and technology fields, those interested in robotics, embedded systems, automation, and artificial intelligence, as well as participants working on software development, image processing, or sensor technologies. It is also suitable for R&D professionals who aim to specialize in autonomous vehicle technologies.

Program Objective

The objective of this program is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the basic components, operating principles, and application areas of autonomous systems. Through both theoretical instruction and hands-on examples, the program covers core elements such as sensor technologies, perception and decision-making mechanisms, control algorithms, and system architecture, enabling participants to build a strong technical foundation.

  1. Fundamental components and operating principles of autonomous systems
  2. Sensor technologies and perception methods
  3. Decision-making mechanisms and basic algorithms
  4. Control systems and control loops
  5. Introduction to path planning and obstacle avoidance algorithms
  6. Communication protocols used in autonomous systems (I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.)
  7. Autonomous system architecture
  8. Introduction to Python-based applications
  9. Application examples of autonomous systems in industry, defense, transportation, and robotics

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, participants will gain the ability to explain the fundamental building blocks and operational logic of autonomous systems. They will understand the relationships between sensing, perception, decision-making, and control loops, and will be able to interpret basic sensor data to develop simple perception and control applications. Participants will also comprehend the core principles of path planning and obstacle avoidance algorithms and become familiar with commonly used communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and CAN. Additionally, they will acquire the capability to evaluate the application areas of autonomous systems across industry, defense, transportation, and robotics sectors.
